I: Bachelor's degree
1. Department of Medical Surgical Nursing A (first semester)
2. Department of Medical Surgical Nursing B (first semester of the second semester)
First, the Department of Medical Surgical Nursing (A):
Divided into two semesters
- First semester: Fundamentals of Nursing
- Second Semester / Medical Surgical Nursing (1)
It includes the following courses: -
1- Nursing courses: Fundamentals of Nursing - Medical Surgical Nursing (1)
2- Medical courses: - Anatomy - Physiology - Microbiology - Parasitology - Nutrition/Biochemistry - Forensic Medicine and Toxicology.
3- Supporting courses: - Introduction to Psychology - Sociology - English Language.
4- Interactive Courses (University Requirements): - Social Issue
II: Department of Medical Surgical Nursing (B):
Divided into two semesters
- First semester: Medical Surgical Nursing (2)
- Second semester: Critical Care Nursing
It includes the following courses: -
1- Nursing courses: - Medical Surgical Nursing (2)
2- Medical courses: - General internal diseases - surgery and its specialties - pharmacology - pathology - pathology - general internal diseases - applied medicines - nutrition in health and disease.
3- Supporting Courses: - Computer - English Language - Educational Psychology.
4-Cultural courses (university requirements) communication and presentation skills.
Postgraduate Studies
The Department of medical surgical nursing teaches the following programs:
1- Master's degree in medical surgical nursing.
2- Doctorate in medical surgical nursing.
3- Specialized diplomas.
First, the master's degree in surgical internal nursing

II: Doctoral Degree in medical surgical nursing
Specialization in medical surgical nursing: The following courses are taught

1- Seminars in medical surgical nursing as a general specialty (1)
2- Seminars in medical surgical nursing specialization (1)
3- Practical applications in medical surgical nursing specialization (1)
4- New trends in nursing
5- An elective from the following subjects:
- Infection control in critical care units
- Developing nursing care using scientific research
Second semester-
1- Seminars in medical surgical nursing as a general specialty (2)
2- Seminars in medical surgical nursing specialization (2)
3- Practical applications in medical surgical nursing (2)
III: Diplomas
1- Postgraduate diploma in critical care nursing.
2- Postgraduate Diploma in Operative and Surgical Nursing.
3- Postgraduate diploma in oncology nursing.
4- Postgraduate diploma in renal nursing and renal dialysis.
5- Postgraduate diploma in organ and stem cell transplant nursing.
6- Postgraduate diploma in emergency and trauma nursing.

The Department of Medical Surgical Nursing aims to provide a nursing student with an excellent level of professional skills necessary to provide comprehensive nursing care based on advanced scientific practice and based on a comprehensive critical thinking approach.
Strategic objectives of the Medical Surgical Nursing Department
1- Qualifying students to provide distinguished and highly efficient nursing care to patients in accordance with ethical and behavioral values.
2- Qualifying students to provide distinguished nursing services through planning and implementing nursing care plans considering the specialties of internal medicine, general and special surgery, critical cases, and emergencies.
3- Educating students about the problems facing the nursing profession, analyzing them, and contributing to solving them to advance the profession.
4- Strengthening the culture of self-learning among students
5- Contributing to improving and raising the health level of the individual and society through community participation.
6- Participation in community activities that contribute to solving community problems and developing the environment by participating in medical convoys, blood donation campaigns...etc.
7- Providing health education services to patients and non-patients.
8- Qualifying students to work with members of the health team to provide integrated health care to patients.
9- Keeping pace with scientific development in the field of public and specific nursing and the field of continuing health education.
10- Faculty members conduct scientific research in the field of Medical surgical nursing while encouraging students to participate.
11- Developing the skills of faculty members in the department through participation in regional and international seminars and conferences and encouraging international publication of research.
12- Strengthening the department’s quality system.
